My daughter grew up with these books. I was really happy to see this book for my granddaughter. She's only 7 weeks old and it kept her attention. There are very few words on each page so it's perfect for a first book.

I purchased this book for my 5 year old grand daughter. I remember buying these same books when My now 26 & 28 year old sons had these books when they were young. I loved reading to them and I want to pass this onto my grand daughter. I love the Mercer Mayer books.Excellent books.

My daughter started out reading these books 13 years ago and now I have a son. I can tell you that having these books on hand helped her reach her AR reading goal every month in school. She could take the test on the book in 1st grade and really get points and awards in class which boosted her self esteem. We love the art of the newer critter books a bit better than the older ones but the stories are perfect. This time around I plan on getting lots of these books for my son because early reading is so essential!

I got this book for me and my grandson to read. We keep reading it over and over! It is perfect for me and my little 3 year old grandson.

Purchased this item for a mother's day gift for my mother in law. She loves the little critter series and read this to my husband when he was little. I purchased this and wrote on the inside of the front cover with my son's name and happy 1st mothers day as my grandma. This is for her house for her to read to him when he comes over. She was thrilled to open it :)

Book is thin and appears a little cheap but my mother loves reading this book to my daughter. They have a routine of 3 books they read when they’re together and this is one of them.

Grandma loves it, grandson loves it. Especially the little spider on each page.

My 3 year old grandson loves the Little Critter stories and has almost all of them. Since I am the grandma, I thought it would be fun for me to read this one to him. All of the stories are well suited to this age group and the drawings are always fun to explore. He loves the little animal and insect critters that are found on every page, and we make a game of trying to find the spider, the mouse or the grasshopper in each book. Very well written stories.

I loved this story about Samuel, Alexander's brother, and Jessica, a wolf shifter.Jessica was raised in a village of wolf shifters who have kept their town virtually isolated from the human world, and definitely the Dragon world, for many, many years. As a result their is no influx of new people, or new ideas. This means the mating pool is small and limited for each generation of wolves. Jessica finds herself in a position of being forced into marriage with the town Alpha, a nasty wolf that she greatly dislikes. Taking her chances and fleeing the only home and people she knows, Jessica finds herself alone and hurt when she falls into an icy crevasse. Things only get worse when she is found by a man she immediately identifies as a dragon shifter, the hated enemy of wolf shifters.Samuel is just out to enjoy some fresh air when he discovers a woman, who is obviously badly hurt, at the bottom of a deep crevasse. His offers of warmth and shelter are firmly refused, though the woman does agree to let him bring her food and a pillow. As the two get acquainted, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. After a passionate night together, Samuel begins to hope for something more, but how would he ever explain his feelings for a wolf to his dragon brother, the king? When Jessica disappears on him, leaving only a strange string of numbers on a piece of paper, Samuel realizes he must enlist the help of his human sister-in-law if he ever hopes to see her again.Jessica can't believe that a dragon, a species that she had been taught to hate, was so kind and gentle towards her. When she meets up with a group of human backpackers and they share a meal and some companionship with her, she is even more confused. Humans are selfish and destructive, right? That is what she had always been told. Samuel is the twin brother of the King and he’s a dragon. He is also very lonely and unhappy. So when he goes out to his favorite thinking spot and finds a beautiful woman laying there, apparently injured, he’s surprised. Nobody is supposed to know about this spot. Jessica is a wolf running away from her secluded village because her family is insisting she marry Thomas, the pack’s Alpha, a man she cannot stand. Samuel is very kind to her and takes care of her as she has broken her leg. He wants her to stay but she feels she can’t as the relationship between dragon and wolf is not a very good one, as a great war was fought between the two races ages ago. Once she leaves, she is contacted by her father, if she doesn’t return to the village immediately, her younger sister will be forced to marry Thomas. Refusing to allow her sister to suffer this way, she returns home only to be confined to her room. She can’t stop thinking about Samuel though and wondering if she made the right choice to leave. Samuel can’t stop thinking about Jessica either and when he fears she is in danger, learning she has headed home, he immediately rushes in to save her. An amazing story full of wonderful characters! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good shifter story!I received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

The characters and scenes were intriguing, complex and realistic. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that I felt I was part of the tale instead of reading it from the sidelines. With a strong storyline that captures your imagination and holds it till last word. Eyes total focus on the pages and frozen to your seat. Twists, turns and unexpected surprises that were truly nailbiting, hold your breath with danger lurking around every corner. I think I lost two inches in the waist with all the tension and sucking in a sharp breath more than once. A whirlwind of emotions and events that will set you back upon your heels in one second and on your knees the next. The chemistry between the two main characters were white hot, electrifying and explosive. Wow. Talk about setting the nights in fire. They could probably do just that. Aubrey did a remarkable job bringing this read together flawlessly and without a crease. Kayla Wolf's second book in the Dragon Valley series is Protected by the Dragon. The history reveal between the dragons and wolves really enhanced the world building and I expect more enlightenment in the future stories. This is a story filled with tension, chemistry, enemies, friends, family, politics, love and of course, fated mates. Shakespeare would have loved it.  I was totally involved with this story, turning page after pageSamuel is the new King's brother and a little bored with life. Jessica is fleeing an arranged marriage with someone she hates, the Alpha. After falling down a crevice and breaking her leg, she wakes to a very handsome man staring down at her -- Not a man, a dragon -- her enemy. She's been taught that the only good dragon is a dead dragon. Is he going to eat her?This story offers a growing romance, intrigue, suspense, and a slow build to the steamy scenes. I highly recommend this author and this 5 star series.I look forward to more adventures -- after all, Helena still needs to find her mate, even Amara deserves someone to love.I did receive an advanced readers copy from the author. The above is my voluntary review.
