Spolier Alert:I really loved this book. What a great way to start a new generation of Warriors under Bramblestar? Don't get me wrong, I loved Firestar. And I loved the Dawn of the Clans series as well. Different generations of cats all connected to each other one way or another. I've read the books from start to finish (The Sun Trail thru The Apprentice's Quest) in order of events on the timeline. And they each beautifully connect the cats to each other. And I have a feeling this new arc will do just that.Alderpaw going on his quest to the Gorge to find SkyClan and only finding the rogues who ran out SkyClan, is just one part of it. I think the next part of the story in book 2 is going to involve the 2 kits Alderpaw and Needlepaw found. The rogues from the gorge are supposed to show up. And you know the Clans won't take that too lightly. And lastly, I have a feeling Hawkwing (SkyClan Deputy) will show up. He is supposed to have his own book that takes place just before the first book of this series. The third book being name The Shattered Sky tells me that it will involve the modern SkyClan cats. And I can't for all of them to be released.I love these books and this one was just as good.
My daughter was hardly a reader before she found this series...she's read the entire series. I bought the first 6 novels as a set and she finished them in less than three days...I was floored because I just assumed she wasn't a reader. Since then, she is a lot more open-minded about books and now reads all the time. I'm forever grateful to Erin Hunter for jump-starting my 10 year old daughter's passion for reading :0)
I've been a Warriors fan for the past five years (as a middle aged cat lady - these books are really for all ages!) This new story arc deals with a ThunderClan apprentice who has an inferiority complex, but also the guidance of StarClan. I found this story more emotional than action- oriented (though there's plenty of that too) and at times, it nearly brought me to tears. I can see I will be getting a hold of the next book in the series as soon as I can!
Honestly, I really like these book series. Though, this one was written nicely and descriptively, [and had parts that made me want to cry forever], I see a few minor concerns. Let's start with the most important and heart breaking one.WhyDidYouEvenDareKillOffSandstorm;-; you shattered meAnyway, it seems as if the book series are repeating themselves.Cat comes in. Cat is not too good. Cat proves them worthy. Cat becomes important by defeating some unknown evil. The end! (That's what I think will happen, anyway.)Other than this, I think it's great so far. I loved most of the characters, and I really hope I don't get spoiled, because so far I am really intrigued and interested.Keep up the good work, Erin Hunter! :)
"Warriors" is a great series, I started reading them when I was in 6th grade, I was about 12 I guess, I am now 18 and I still love this series, it says it is for kids, but it has an adult theme to it, I love almost every character in these books and after "Omen Of The Stars" I didn't think there was going to be another series, but then there was a prequel and again I didn't think there was going to be a continuation of the "main" story line, but there is! God I love these books.
I love this book! It was very well written and I hope Alderpaw helps Twigkit and Violetkit. I also hope they save Skyclan. It's not fair to Firestar and Sandstorm if they don't help Skyclan. All in all, I can't wait for the next book. Great job Erin Hunter!!!! I look forward to reading all your books!!! :D
Finally, I finished reading this and much as I tried to make it last, I finished quickly. I really did love the first in VoS arc even though I was heartbroken Sandstorm passed away along the quest. But at the same time, I get it, the need to make room for new cats because cats being cats, there is always a new litter of kits. I also understand Sandstorm's desire not to die as in elder in her nest, but wanting one last adventure, to do something important. Wise kitty.Questions, observations...** I would like to find out why it was necessary to have Twigkit and Violetkit to be separated, (which by the way, made cry!)** Also why Needlepaw seemed to be cold toward Alderpaw at the full moon gather. I feel something plot-twisty after such a physically and emotionally trying quest as it seemed the two had bonded on the way back home.** Onestar seems to upped his crankiness since the last we all read about him. I'd like him to return the nicer less stereotypical Windclan bad tempered cat, to the way he was pre-leader, Onewhisker self at the end of his life. I just loved him back then!** Where is Ivytail's mate! Vicky, one of the Erin's said Ivytail would get a mate this series.Although book was good, I would have given it a 4 1/2 stars if it were possible. I felt it was rushed, especially the last 10%. Maybe the publishers should have allowed more pages in the book so she could've slowed it down a bit and I didn't get the abrupt ending feel I had. BUT I STILL LOVE THE BOOK LIKE ALL WARRIOR BOOKS. <3
In my opinion this book was ok. First off, it said absolutely nothing about some of the cats like Daisy. I also almost screamed (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD) when i found out that Dustpelt died. Really! did u have to end a characters life that i have loved and known forever?Secound off, who are all these new cats?? which mother gave birth to them? I have a lot of questions that i am very confused about! I mean could Erin Hunter at least tell us who these cats!! :(.
