After this author held my riveted attention during his sermon at the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Princess Meghan recently I bought this book and was not disappointed. His inclusive view of true Christianity represents the Jesus I know and love, and is in stark contrast to much of the mainline stream that has hijacked the name of Christ to lend authenticity and authority to their homophobic, xenophobic, and cultic agenda. This call to follow the example of Jesus is not always easy, and will often run counter to the example of the religious leaders and political powers of our time, but I believe the rewards will be great. Anyone who has been turned off by “Christianity,” but longs to fill the God-shaped hole in their being should read this book and rejoice.

As a 76 year old Episcopalian, all my adult life, I have felt that our last two head bishops forgot about us and appealed to other groups and got away from what being a Christian is.Before someone jumps on me about being prejudiced, one of my direct ancestors was a documented slave from Africa, and we have a sprinkling of Cherokee blood in our ancestors. We have many gay friends and one calls us Mom and Dad. We are not his parents, but he got more support from us before and after he came out, than he did from his parents.The Episcopal Church needs healing and reconciliation and more focus on being a Christian. Bishop Michael Curry points to Jesus and his command to love. This book needs to be read by every Episcopalian.I got this book on Kindle, when Michael became our head bishop. I have read about half of it and have made suggestions to make it the center piece for an adult bible study this fall/winter/spring at our parish. So far, our priest and key lay leaders have agreed with me.As noted, I read half of the book in a couple of days, and I'm saving the rest for later when we start the study group.

As I began reading Crazy Christians, I was not immediately wowed by the Bishop's early chapters. His examples from his grandmother as well as from well known Church leaders and thinkers did stick in my mind. By the time I reached the second half of this short book, I was hooked. A Gospel vision of our lives is a beautiful and radical thing! Jesus stood against the corruption and greed of his day and those who wish to follow Jesus must do the same in our day. Jesus and his disciples were always among "the people" and serving others. Evangelism if reaching out to others and not necessarily inviting them into a building. A community of God may have buildings but the focus is always on extending God's compassion and care for all people, in every place and time. What Bishop Curry is speaking about may seem crazy but, after you read it, you may realize that it is the how Jesus was in his time and what we need to do as his followers in our day now.

I gave this book 2 stars, not because of the recipes but bc of the choice in serving sizes and measurements. The author is all over the place with measurements. Some are in Grams, some in ounces and some measures in cups. Theres a recipe measured in 630 grams per point value. How in the world am I suppose to measure that without having a scale?? I also feel that the pint value in conjunction with the serving size is misleading. Nobody in their right mind is gonna eat 1/2C beef stew! The author measured it that way to keep the point value low, knowing well that 1/2C of stew is ridiculous.I will say that the recipes are well worded, clear with all nutritional values listed. There isn’t any picture, but that wasn’t a problem for me personally.I’m 50/50 on whether I’d recommend this book. The price is great so maybe.

This is the second of two disappointing WW books I bought just recently. I definitely got what I paid for, which wasn’t much, because this is the first cookbook I ever bought that has no pictures. Zero. It does contain recipes, but the book seems like a bunch of cobbled together PDF recipes. Nice cover, though.Fool me once...

I cherish this cookbook! I cook in my simmering pot somewhere around a few times each week, and now that the family is down to two, the scraps were wild. Never again! The formulas in here are scrumptious, OK for my diabetes, and simple to make. Ten minutes to sling everything in the stewing pot, and you go off and do your thing for 6-8 hours, and after that return and eat. No disturbing additional means like obligatory sauteing or including something part of the way through. I'm so happy I purchased this.

Not enough recipes. Glad I just paid 99 cents for the kindle version. I have at least 4 other WW recipe books and they have lots of great recipes and a large variety. But they are from a couple years ago. Anyway this one is disappointing

Good but needs a couple of things to rate a 5 star. The most glaring omission is the lack of a table of contents or an index. Who writes a technical or reference manual and doesn't put a table of contents in it or an index? You need one or the other. That makes this a difficult book to really use effectively. I liked that it didn't overwhelm you with a lot of technical detail. Having said that there were some sections that could use more detail on how to do more of the complicated things. All in all it was a good primer to read before getting the iphone 6 with iOS8.

It helps a lot !! A Real laid-out instruction sheet still is needed, especially for non-teenagers and other than clever tech people - like Old people brought up with slow reading of paper and full instruction booklets that were packaged in with the product. Like myself.Why only 3 stars?This guide was written along with the iPhone, in its atmosphere of technology. At one point I looked up an explanation for something very basic. What did I find? - A note to the effect that since this action was so basic, so "obvious" (yeah - to us antiques?) that the Guide would skip over and continue to the next item. It was bragging that really this Guide is not necessary after all - and the iPhone is built in a way to be completely intuitive. (Any idiot can figure this out. If you can't then go back to your house phone attached to the ATandT wall socket.)

A good but very chatty view of the latest version of the iPhone. Very good and comprehensive. Major down side is the lack of an antiquate index - not much tolerance for hopping around for what interests ME but otherwise a fairly complete examination of 6 in the order the author thinks best :-)..

I am a Senior and far from a tech person. Most of what was in this I did know but it did teach me a couple new tricks. Not bad for a reference if you are not a wiz at all this new stuff.
