About the Author

Writing a book has been my dream, particularly during my teenage years. I started to scribble down my romantic thoughts on paper while at school, where a writing competition more or less changed my life. I could hardly believe what I was hearing, but this honour sparked something within my romantic soul and has never left it. Much later I found myself making up various stories during my summer holidays. My poor cousins volunteered themselves into my dreamy scenarios and played the heroes in the garden between the pear trees. The smell of ripe yellow pears still tickles my curious nose and my insatiable mind. The little heroes of mine did their utmost to perform their roles as much as their age allowed them, although I knew they could not understand what I wanted from them. But, I enjoyed our every rehearsal and became more ambitious in my dreams. I decided to dare to conquer the even more challenging world of film directorship. Oh, those romantic teenage days were so bright and full of happy dreams. At that time I did not know that my choice of profession would be more practical. Yet had I not learned English, I would almost certainly not be here now, typing my book about Ukraine. I promised myself that one day I would cut to the chase and follow my soul. I am not a professional writer, and my sentences are not tailored, but my heart sings from thoughts of my book.

The journey through Ukraine with Ann as your guide is highly recommended for the insights, history and assorted interesting bits she reveals.Ann is a delightful narrator of Ukraine’s history, sights and sounds, and cuisine. Very little escapes her attention and her detailed imagination.

Very enjoyable read. A concise view of Ukraine by a Ukrainian. A brief history of the country, the people, cuisine, fashion, customs, and culture, presented deftly by the author. So much unique information such as the last toast at the table is known as “na konya”, meaning “for the horse” along with the history of the phrase. The author’s love for her country comes shining through and the reader will come away with a greater appreciation and knowledge of Ukraine. I highly recommend.

The book is very interesting and entertaining book. It is not a novel and not a travel guide! It is more. If you are curious about the country, Ukraine, or ukrainian people, habits, places and food (I am culinary dependent), then you should read. You will not regret to read. Informative, and well organized, but falls short in a few areas:- Lots of typographical errors.- Overly verbose and repetitive. Some points are re-made 3 times in the same paragraph.- Overly informal writing style, accentuated by the excessive use of exclamation points.- Many examples refer to the readers as "Pluralsighters", presumably due to borrowing examples from the author's video courses. But this was a bit jarring, and left an unpolished feel.Most important, I found that it falls short in the area of content, by ending abruptly after explaining all of the high-level Kubernetes concepts (Pods, Services, ReplicaSets and Deployments), and doesn't expand any further. In particular, it doesn't explain how you might use multiple deployments together to deploy a production application (or whether this is even the preferred approach).It would also be greatly enhanced by including additional higher-level documentation and examples, such as:- How to deploy applications that have Pods with persistent dependencies (i.e. disk, IP addresses, etc)- How to handle backup and recovery of persistent storage in the context of Kubernetes- How to deploy applications with geographic redundancy in mindOverall, it's a good book, but it stops at explaining the Kubernetes tools, and doesn't expand enough into the larger context in which Kubernetes tools are typically used.

What I like about this book is that you get a good reference on what you need to get started with Kubernetes and enough detail about what it does and how it can help. The title is a bit misleading in that it's not "the book" as in the one book you'll need to get up and running. In fact, little of what's in here can't be found elsewhere but I found the presentation here much more useful than the tutorials on the Kubernetes website. There are many gaps in the web documentation that are filled here (you could do the same by just searching stackoverflow with the risk of sifting through outdated info).It's a time saver, but as such it's not really worth the price.Also, it's still missing thigs:- at one point in the book, the author uses IP 54.246.255.52 to load the sample container in the browser. It's never explained where he got it from. In fact, the public ip of your service will be in the list, but can be found by running 'minikube ip' (if you're using minikube to run your kubernetes cluster)- the role of minikube is never explore enough, as to why it's needed and some things you will need to manually use it for.

I do want to give proper credit for one thing. Nigel has amazing taste in publishing. This book is beautifully laid out, and the print is a pleasure to look at.The words, however, are sadly not a pleasure to read.If I've dropped money on a book, I don't need to be sold on the technology. Part of this means I can do perfectly well without every sentence ending in an exclamation mark! Because I'm already excited to learn the technology! It's really obnoxious after the intro chapter.This book also uses paragraphs where a sentence would do. Nigel repeats himself as a matter of routine. At the end of a chapter, he'll tell you what the next chapter is about (rather than using a well-worded transition). Then he prefaces the next chapter with what the *current* chapter will be about. And then there's the chapter itself. And then he summarizes what you just read. The actual content of the book could have been condensed down into a 30-page PDF document, and it still would have been a good $5 e-Book. But it's not worth the $20 sticker.Finally, all this information is available and easy to find in the tutorials online. That's not the same kind of content that people like me want in a book. A book is supposed to be a perspective on the technology. It's supposed to help build a mental model of the software and help illuminate the intent.Again, to Nigel's credit, he does a very good job in the early chapter (and a fantastic job in his accompanying Docker book) at giving the history of these technologies. If anything was to redeem my purchase of this otherwise disappointing book, it would be the first chapter.

This is a tutorial style book, rather than an 800-page manual reference. It helps the beginners to understand the big picture of Kubernetes in 1-2 days. Whether or not it is a good style, it depends on tastes. I prefer this style because it helps me to get started and gain confidence fast, really fast.Yes, this book is written in the colloquial style, lacking formalism in a typical technical book. But the question is why is formalism essential for every book? If this book helps beginners, why do we ask for formalism? Is it because we "believe" every technical book is supposed to reach a certain level of formalism?

There are things that I like about this book, but it really only covers the very basics of kubernetes and ends up repeating itself quite a bit. The examples of configurations are appreciated, but it doesn't cover much in the way of real world needs - it doesn't touch on secrets, volumes and stateful containers, auto-scaling, configuration, meshes, metrics, logging, daemon sets, jobs. Especially with many readers potentially trying to migrate non container native applications, a fully worked example of a real world application with all of its requirements would be useful.

I never did care much for the mailer's written bio; I loved the photos (by various photographers) from the first edition. I was always captivated by the Stern photos. Now this edition has been updated so that it's only stern photos. The photos are full page photos both in black and white and color nicely reproduced. Many of the fashion shots that you don't always see, and some colors as well. The size of the book is huge!!! much larger (and heavier) than the original edition. It it really a photo book printed on heavy paper (the photos will appear to be matte rather than glossy finish). It's true you can get all his photos in the complete last sitting (expensive) but some of these photos were small photos. It's also true many have been published in magazines, but do you want to have abut 50 magazines to look thru (and think of the thinness of the paper)? At a substantial discount on Amazon I was very happy to have this edition along with the original edition. As I said, it's for the photos!!!!

This is another great tribute to the late, great Marilyn Monroe. It captures her ethereal beauty w/ pictures seldom seen. A Hollywood icon we shall never forget who's life was cut far short.

This book should be a part of any Marilyn Monroe fan's collection. The pictures are breathtaking and the accounts from the photography are very interesting. You have to have this in your Marilyn collection!

The beauty of this book is the Stern photos and quotes by Marilyn. I've never been a Mailer fan and his rambling here does nothing to win me over. Stern's photos featured in the book have been published in other formats like the German Mag "Fotografie" No. 49. Explore other publications and compare before you make a purchase.

“How do I say goodbyeeeee.” I’m going to miss Falcon and Troi but I loved how their story ended, even with all the messed up things that were going on. I’m extremely haply that all their enemies got dealt with and I swear I wasn’t expecting Em to do what she did, I mean not like how she did. I was happy about how things went for little Fabian too, they didn’t have to do that but they did and I just loved it. I wish I could give this book more than five stars.

This has been one hell of a ride, to an unbelievable love story that I must say I did not want to end .where oh where can I find my Faclon . The storyline was so refreshing it was a pleasure to read, the drama and action was non stop and lead us straight to our happy ending.Love The father and son looking forward to reading more about the parents and how they got to where they are in their relationship and hopefully we and read more about my new book bae. Outstanding job author.

This series was one of my favorites. It kept you in a rollercoaster ride for book one. I just Love The way Troi and Falcon loved each other. He took in her sister like it was nothing.His parents would do anything for him and the family.Keep on writing Syrphanie!

Falcon was the man through out this book. Troi was on some snake s#^t in the beginning, but Ivan Sr was on some deadly s#^t too. Dacia was bitter because Falcon wasn't in love with her but what did expect when you sexing his boy. Falcon did care for Dacia but she just got to face it the better woman won. Troi was a hustler and Dacia was riding on Falcon coat tails. The same thing with Vita and Em. Em thought she came up real quick by Ronnie gone she hooked with Faine real quick but when s#^t got real she disappeared with the quickness. They all got what they deserved. Derek dad was an a$$hole. Back story of Falcons parents

This series is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥. All my babies went through a lot but I'm glad they came out on top. It seemed like falcon old friends from the past had to come back and do some dirt in the end that put them in the ground. Now Derek farther Ivan got what he deserved, had all that hate for tori and he met his demise at the end. I enjoyed reading another one of ur books and I'm looking forward to reading more of them

I wasn't sure what to expect because I thought the first book was a standalone. Since Falcon was dead I just didn't see what Troi would be up to. The love Falcon and Troi shared made the book for me. There were so many enemies and secrets exposed. This was a very good read.

A great ending to a good read. The drama, continued and got better and better. Crazy twist and turns, secrets,and more. Happy ending and a wedding.

I was able to attend one of Mark's Certified Scrum Master classes through his company, Platinum Edge, and it was such a great course I had to buy this Scrum for Dummies book to follow. Similar to Mark's in-person teaching style, this book was extremely informative and easy to understand. I also bought Agile Project Management for Dummies and am excited to read that too.

Layton tends to oversell Scrum, but Scrum is a good system so read the book for the clear explanation and take Layton's cheerleading with a grain of salt. Sometimes Layton seems like Scrum is his new found religion. Yet he does provide a good overview so you should be able to implement Scrum skills after reading this book.

I can easily find the information I'm looking for as the company I work for is embracing Agile and Scrum methods and techniques more and more!

Most Dummies books are good but this one refers to templates that can be downloaded from their web site. Apparently the only way you get access is if you buy it from THEIR web site at a higher price. Also, once you hit the web site you can never un-register and you get a barrage of email ads. The product line has fallen significantly from their earlier glory.

The book's content is not very much for beginners, but is written in a very easy-to-read manner.

I ordered this book mostly because I wanted to read about this subject from a Catholic author's perspective.The book delivers in that regard. Some of the things I like best about the book are the prayers, the cautious approach, and the definitions- especially the differences between a demonologist and an exorcist.It's written for the laity and I like the book. The version I have is the "underground" edition which could have benefited from editing. Even so, I learned a lot from reading this book. I'd buy it again.

Although this is an unedited version, I found the experiences of this author to parallel my own in such a manner as to affirm my own discernment of phenomenon experienced by myself over the past number of years. Many of which, priests and spiritual directors either don't understand or don't want to deal with. It is nice to see one that comes so close to home as this.I couldn't put it down and had to keep reaching for my highlighter.Very reassuring to those of us who have had to deal with this on our own without help from the Catholic church

I am still reading this. The info seems good. It is very focused on there being only one right way to look at and do things for protection, i.e., tradiional Roman Catholic. There are lots of good prayers in here, such as how to set up a "hedge protection" around a property by burying St. Benedict medals in the 4 corners, with a prayer at each corner and then a different prayer in the middle. There are several suggestions of things like this thaI can be done without a priest.I am having a tough time slogging through all the errors in grammar and punctuation. The author states in the introduction that it is unedited. It is apparently a rough draft of the book published as The Christian Demonologist's Handbook. I checked out the latter on Amazon and the look inside showed improvement, but still could have used more editing. This probably bothers me more because of my perfectionism, and probably won't bother most people.

I have quite a library of books on this subject and find this book just as helpful as any other in it's own way. As someone who has had to endure my own nightmare dealing with the demonic, I found Mr. Deel's advice very sound and practical. Just solid straightforward information to help someone who has questions, and may be scared and dealing with spiritual warfare.The only criticism I have is that this book needed to be edited. It would have made the reading much easier, and I would respectfully encourage the author to consider this in future printings. That being said, I will recommend this book to others because the content is just too important to ignore on the basis of punctuation.

I use these book frequently in my studies and have found it to be most useful when talking to people about spiritual warfare! It is a humble yet thorough approach to the evils that exist in today's world. Well worth the $.

This books has lots of information regarding the subject of demonic activity and how to respond to it, the causes of it etc. What would have earned it 5 Star review ? If the book had a forward by a member of the Catholic Clergy from his diocese and some footnotes of sources etc. It would be near perfect. I would recommend this book highly for those who wish to study this topic.

I was so excited about getting this book. I didn't believe the other reviews about the poor writing style or at the very least hoped it was a revised version. Nope. The writing style is atrocious. It discourages you from wanting to read the book because you have to re-read sentences and passages multiple times to figure out what the author is saying, using context clues and making hypothetical conclusions. ALSO, Amazon did a HORRENDOUS job at packaging this book. It came so severely dented in one corner that the book can't lie flat or completely close and they ignored my reaching out to them to get this resolved.
