This is a cute little story about an Irish family that celebrates St. Patrick's Day. Written in the same style as A Visit From St. Nicholas / 'Twas The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore.Two children set 'leprechaun traps' the night before St. Patrick's Day. The night morning they found they've caught one and they ask him where to find his hidden gold, but he tricks them and wishes them better luck next year. A super simple story that will not bore young readers. May not be very exciting for older kids but it might give them some ideas for their own traps, which they might like to make with a younger sibling. I love how the siblings in this book treat each other. Usually at holidays you see kids fighting over who got the best toy or who has more candy, but these kids work together nicely!We also have The Night Before Easter by the same author, which is also cute but I don't really recommend it as it's all about getting treats, which is probably better for a classroom setting with multi-cultural, multi-religious backgrounds but not ideal for the use I had hoped. Anyway! This is a cute book with a fun story that (IMO) children age 3-7 could enjoy.

Loved this book! My three year old and I were learning about leprechauns and building our own trap for St. Patrick's Day. This was the perfect book to go along with it! Colorful illustrations, cute story, and great new ideas for traps, as well as a bit of folklore ("He's hiding somewhere. When we find him, remember, we must hold his stare. For if you look away, if you so much as blink, leprechauns vanish, quick as a wink.") The "trick" at the end of the story was great!!! Sneaky little leprechaun :)

My daughter (almost 5 now) and I love these books! They are not too long, not too short, and super fun! We have almost all of them, she loves to read them all the time especially the 'Night Before' whatever holiday or event the book is about. We started originally with the Night Before Preschool The Night Before Preschool August (2016) to help ease her into preschool a bit, we bought 10 other titles from this series since then and plan to expand the collection as time goes on.

My mother and I looked through the book before giving to twin boys,my nephews. They were 3-4 at the time. Great for St Patrick's day. Nice colorful pictures, easy to read turn pages and the story is great for them. I didn't get to see them in past 5 years, because of some evil people who are targeting me, so I hope someday I can again.

Let me start by saying we are Irish. We have on the average about 25-30 people at our house every St. Patrick's Day. The entire house is decorated, inside and out. We decorate a tree, every year, and the leprechauns leaves presents under it for the grand kids. We do garland, and a village, lots of balloons, pictures, lights, and even a hidden pot of gold (gold wrapped chocolate candies.) We always felt it was important to celebrate, our heritage, with our children, and friends, so this all started years ago, when my 4 kids were little. Now it has become even bigger and better, and being carried on with the next generation. I cook on the average about 25 pounds of corned beef and cabbage, with all the trimmings for the day. And of course the Green beer and green punch flows endlessly. This is a wonderful book it really does sound a lot like The night before Christmas, which is also why I wanted it. It does a great job, rhyming, it's way along, St Patty 's Day events. I love how they build a leprechaun trap, and try to catch him. It tells of wearing green, decorating, bagpipes, and visions of gold coins, dancing in their heads. This is a perfect addition to our holiday.

Can't begin to say how much fun this book has been for our 4-year-old. This book motivated him to build five different leprechaun traps (with "gold" lego bait) in hopes of catching one. And knowing that leprechauns will escape if you break eye contact has improved his staring contest skills to the point that I always lose. And it was a good excuse to learn the order of the colors of the rainbow since the ones in the book are definitely not Roy G. Biv.

Bought for a fun book to read for St. Patricks Day with the kids. I can't say the story is the best one I have ever read, but it is one we will read every year. I don't regret buying it.

Where to begin? I am a Nicholas Sparks fan, but this book was a complete miss - I really do not understand the high ratings. First, the main character, Russ, is a complete sap who lets his bee-yatch of a wife walk all over him and treat him like something she scraped off her shoe. I really have no respect for someone who does not stand up for himself, especially when there is a child present. How is that child going to learn about healthy relationships when she witnesses her mother completely undermine and insult her father? Not saying he needed to create a scene in front of their daughter, but needed to confront his wife in private. This book highlighted how fathers are marginalized by the public and the courts during divorce and custody disputes. Instead of writing a strong character who stands up for his rights as a father who has been the primary caregiver, Mr. Sparks continues to push the narrative that the man needs to upend his life to maintain a relationship with his child, rather than the vindictive, slutty wife, who chose to have an affair and move to a different city. Russ is so spineless, I almost stopped reading BEFORE the wife left him!Oh, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out Marge had cancer very early in the book, but he had to drag that out so it was Stage IV and incurable before it's diagnosed. I feel that this plotline was contrived because this author felt he needed something to make the reader cry since that's a hallmark of his books.

I feel a little let down when reading this book. I normally can't put down one of Mr Sparks books. This one dragged on too long. I had to make myself keep picking it back up, because I hoped a least the ending would be great and it was a very good ending shock I could not put down once I got to the last few chapters.Sherry Barnes

I had stopped read Mr. sparks for some time and decided to read other genres. I decided to read this and boy I miss him lol. I started this on a Friday afternoon, I annoyed my husband by not being 100% alert to my surroundings all weekend. By Monday evening I finished. The only unpositive thing I'd say is towards he end it focused so much on Marge, I feel like there should have been more of a fight over London. Then in the epilogue it's all laid out what happens. As thru the book he basically gave Vivian what she wanted.... but it does show the true love for his daughter.

I kept reading it just to see if it would get any better. The story is written from a poor soul going through a divorce. Literally the entire book is so boring that I didn't want to keep reading it, I skipped pages waiting for the climax. It came when there was 5% left of the book, and even then it wasn't all the great. I would skip this and not recommend to a friend and please don't turn it into a movie.

This was my first Nicholas Sparks book, and judging from other reviews, it was the wrong first impression.I almost didn't finish it. Honestly, I think the story and the characters have promise, but the book feels like a draft, rather than a polished product.For starters, there are some obvious nitty-gritty editing errors, at least in the ebook version. The book also asks for a bit more content editing, to pare down some of the passages that focus too much on the trivia of Russ' job or random memories/conversations that don't add enough to the story to justify their word count. Some of the dialogue, especially Emily's, isn't there yet. It feels too much like writing, and not enough like natural speech between characters. It's just too obvious which characters are in place to say what, in order to move Russ' character and the plot forward. These kinds of mechanics get smoothed and polished and blended in later drafts. Likewise with those little explanatory sentences, usually at the end of a paragraph, that summarize what the reader should've inferred from the preceding text.The characters, too, needed more work. They were still mostly two-dimensional. They read as types, not as real, complex, unique individuals. Never once were we forced to challenge ourselves on what we thought of Vivian or Emily, or any of the other characters, for that matter.Also, so much of the story was told via internal monologue, it naturally defaulted to telling vs. showing, which keeps the reader at too far a distance.I don't doubt this could've been a sweet, engaging story. But it needed more work to get it there before it hit the prime time.

I usually love Nicholas Sparks books but this one was so boring the first half I almost stopped reading it as I felt the story was going nowhere! If you read the description it makes it sound like the wife dies (not the case) and it was like he was trying to beat it in to you that she was a nasty/selfish person.Instead of quiting the book I decided to scan it to make it go faster which helped and I finally got to the better (not good) part of the story. Every chapter starts out with flashbacks which I felt was not needed as they did not add anything to the story. I did finish it but I would not recommend this book to anyone as I felt the story was kind of slapped together to give it an ending that was no where near as good as his other books I have read.

I too felt that this book was not Nicholas Sparks' best effort or even close to it. It dragged on with a lot of unnecessary dialogue and the reporting of events over and over . There were way too many pages about nothing and to me, were not emotional at all. I have read all of his books and this is next to the worst. The worst being "See Me".... Sorry Nicholas !!!

After an unforgettable experience in India, we have looked for a quality coffee table book that would capture some of the amazing sites we had seen, as well as the people of India, the vivid colors that mark their festivals and a bit of ordinary life - a book that would stir memories and perhaps call us back to India in the future. Many of the more widely praised books on India capture only faces (or colors, or nobility or trucks or buildings) and we have found it very difficult to find all these in one beautiful book. From the description, we thought India Unveiled would be the perfect choice. The content is great, but the quality looks cheap. The paper is glossy and the photographs are without depth and richness - like vintage coffee table books of several decades ago. The cover is a tacky glossy finish as well, with a glossy book jacket. If you are looking for a reference book to put on your shelf, India Unveiled may be just what you're looking for but we would never display this. Had it been well done, India Unveiled would have been a keeper. As it is, we are returning it disappointed.

I needed a book about India that did not have photographs only, but had lots of information about the culture and diversity of the country's religions, customs, and people. After much research, I am so happy that I got this book. It has a good balance of images with interesting narrative that is easy to understand and makes it a very informative read. It is evident that the author is well-versed in India's history, art, and religions and has taken a keen interest in understanding the traditions and customs of the people during his travels through the country. The quality of the book is excellent.

I decided to write a review after reading the book,"India Unveiled: Spirit, Tradition, People." Each chapter delves into the details of each region of the country. All the diversity (and unity) is brought out and explained wonderfully with colorful bold photography. I especially appreciated the writers personal reflections and dialogue accompanying the photos side by side, an added bonus to such a beautifully printed book! It was easy to understand and guided by maps for each chapter. I recommend this book 100% if you are interested in learning about the ancient and beautiful land of India and its Spirit, Tradition, and People! Thank you Robert Arnett for unveiling not just imagery of this part of the world, but the historical and religious relevancy too!

I am a lover of India and Indian culture, and my husband is from India. We purchased this book and were very taken with how cohesive and easy to read it is. It makes a wonderful coffee table book and is chock full of pictures, information, and maps. India is a vast country, not only geologically but culturally, and there is no way you could ever learn everything about this magical country from a single book. However, this book is really the most comprehensive book on India, geography and culture, that I have seen. It is broken down, by geographical location, in chapters with maps and beautiful, full color, unique photographs. India can be very daunting to learn about, and this book really makes it easier to understand.It is written in a voice that ranges from cool and academic, to a charming and warm, first person anecdotal style, which makes it fun to read. There is a deep spiritual reverence, and also a love of India, that shines through the writing, which is really beautiful. It is filled with gorgeous photographs, many of them full page. The varied types of photographs, from artistic portraits to sweeping landscapes, to more gritty candid shots, really make you feel like you are there. Not so much an â€˜artâ€™ photography book, it is informative, and more academic, cultural and spiritual. The photographs are not only beautiful, but are appropriately suited for the specific medium of this book. The book itself is archival quality.My favorite thing about the book is that it focuses on the Spirituality of India. Spirituality is inextricable from Indian culture and is in many ways, you could say, the cornerstone of it. Indiaâ€™s spiritual heritage is completely epic, and, in my humble opinion, any book about India would be remiss in not emphasizing that. As yogis and meditators, my husband and I were thrilled. Some books like this do not emphasize the spirituality of Indian culture, or they come from a position of ignorance about it. This is an amazing book. I am not Jewish--though my paternal grandfather was a secular jew from Hungary--and yet I find the meditations and movements in this book very centering and healing. I find the spiritual energy here to be much more powerful than in the much more widely distributed and Madonna-associated Kabbalah Centre publications by the Berg brothers. If you do even 10 minutes a day of these movements and prayers for a week, I believe you'll start to feel something quite extraordinary: a reconnection with your own soul and, through it, to the divine. There should be dozens of reviews here, not three. Blessings!

I am half way through the book and have found that shifting atmospheres to be God's purpose for me. Being a "feeler" prophet can be rough to socialize with others because I can pick up their emotions and it at times makes me feel uncomfortable. Especially with large number of people around gets very overwhelming for me. Too many emotions all at once. But this book is giving me alot of understanding and knowledge on how to use my gift properly. I am loving it! Can't wait to see the changes in people's hearts!

Excellent book! Learning to manage external and internal atmospheres and understanding where the sensitivity is coming from. The writing flows with real life experience to help solidify understanding. I'm going to read it again!

Instantly was drawn into the message of this book. Dawna is truly Holy Spirit inspired in love, with wisdom and experience in spiritual warfare. I've read much on warfare and spirits of the evil kind and I have to say that Dawna work here is seasoned with mature wisdom and revelation. I am thrilled that in the Fathers timing He is sending forth the strategies from heaven for His bride in advance before that Day. This is one of those books that you can say " Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the church". Time for the bride to wake up and take dominion and stand in the authority that is yours to walk in !!

This book is good at explaining a personâ€™s ability to enfluence those around them by walking in their true identity. We died with Christ and were raised with Him and now we identify with Him!

Such a good book. Very easy to read and tied in with The Happy Intercessor by Beni Johnson. She gives great tools to use to start shifting Atmospheres around you ... starting with your home

Good information but I had a hard time staying interested. Don't know why, like I said it is good information.
