I'll pass on this one. I don't remember how far I read but I do know that the first couple just got married, after knowing each other for a few hours. There isn't really a story, or one that makes sense to me. It's just too farfetched for me and I'm not interested in reading the other three books.

I liked a couple of the books better then others but all were good and very sexy. This is a new author for me and I'll definitely be buying more of her books.

I so love these books by this author, they are short and steamy, a perfect escape for short time when you need a break.Nailed - Brody is a hot alpha man and is immediately attracted to the shy nerdy woman, Megan and it doesn't take him long to get her to open up to him in more ways than one. A great quick steamy read that is to the point w/o any extra frills or unnecessary drama and I loved the fact that Brody wasn't a male sl** and gave Megan the confidence boost she needed while being patient with her, drawing her out of her shell.Bounced - A short, quick, great steamy read about a bouncer, Anvil and the woman he falls for at first sight, Sarah. I really enjoyed this read which was free from excess drama and misunderstandings and I loved the fact that they embraced what they did with little to no second thoughts and made it last.Wrecked - Another short and steamy read about a tow truck driver, Rogan and the young woman he helps Layna. They meet when she calls for a sevice to pull her out of a ditch and then again when she calls him to bail her out of jail. It's then he decides he wants to keep her and make her his. She has secrets and is running away from someone but she feels safe with him and finally opens up & reveals all. An alpha man who doesn't lie & is fiercely protective of his woman and doesn't play games. Instant attraction and a woman who is better with the alpha man by her side to complete each other....refreshing read, to the point, insta love, a book you can't put down till you're done.Drilled - A hot alpha man, Graden, who says what he means and doesn't beat around the bush and the young woman, Rebecca, he promised to look after his best friend (her older brother) died. Graden is fighting his attraction to Rebecca, thinking she needs somebody better and that he is not worthy of her. Rebecca though has other plans, she has wanted Graden who is all male. When she asks him to teach her how to keep a guy, he loses it and it becomes tense between the two until finally he can't hold out any longer. But there is something he hasn't told her and that may just drive her away.I can't get enough of these stories from this author as the author has a way in a very short amount of time having you fall in love with both of the characters. The writing is exceptional and I really really enjoy that the man is not a man wh***, but is an all dirty talking possessive alpha man that makes you swoon, sigh & swoon again, needing at least 2 full glasses of ice water just to cool down from the intense and steamy steamy scenes. Not only that but little drama and what drama there is, it doesn't go on and on and on...refreshing.A perfect book to read by the poolside or beach so when it gets too hot you can cool down!!!

Bounced:This is my first book by Ms Harper & if this is her usual style then I am a huge fan already. I love a good insta-love/lust book. Anvil is a pretty awesome guy & when he sees Sarah he is blown away. He is a tough guy with a beautiful heart & Sarah is a good girl who keeps on the straight & narrow, that is until Anvil knocks her feet out from under her.Nailed:Megan has never fitted in either with her father or her peers. She is socially awkward and lives in a world dominated by the cerebral and not the carnal but when Brody comes to the house to do work for her father that changes for her. Brody is so incredibly sweet to her and instantly feels protective and wants nothing more than to keep her safe, even if its from himself but when he finds her in a compromising position all bets are off and he vows to teach her not only about the carnal but about her worth as a woman, his woman.Drilled:Rebecca doesn't have the best self-esteem but she is sweet and kind and surprisingly knows how to stand up for herself when the need arises. Graden, well, well, well... he is a what my mom would call a man's man! He lives up to his promise to his friend but in doing so changes his own life irrevocably and sets him in a direction he never thought he wanted.Wrecked:Insta-everything doesn't make it any less believable or sweet. (& of course don't forget steamy). When Lance meets Layna he figures she is trouble, what he doesn't figure straight away is how she is going to turn his life completely upside down. He knows she is running from something but just doesn't know what it is. When she trusts him enough to let him in he is furious at what she has gone through and decides then and there that she is his and nothing and no-one will ever hurt her again.I voluntarily reviewed each of these books individually in the past.

I love these books so much! Each one is a unique treat where a spirited young lady finds her HEA with a blue collar yet swoon-worthy alpha sweetheart. This author's writing style is exceptionally brilliant, with hilarious dialogue, intense chemistry, authentic situations, and genuine heartfelt emotional depth. The romances are deliciously sweet, but there's more than enough steam in these books to set your kindles on fire! Each novella is a decadent treat, one you'll want to read again and again and again. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this set.

Vladimir Brnardic was born in Zagreb in 1973. After graduating from the University of Zagreb with a History degree, he trained as a journalist in the Documentary Program of Croatian Television. He has a keen interest in the history of Central and Eastern European military organizations from the 15th to 19th centuries, especially those of the Thirty Years' War period. He is married and currently lives and works in Zagreb, Croatia. The author lives in Zagreb, Croatia.

This history of the Catholic armies of the Hapsburg Empire that fought in the Thirty Years War explores the role of infantry and artillery during the last major religious war in mainland Europe. As the states of the Holy Roman Empire fractured along religious lines, all of Europe was plunged into a bloody conflict that lasted three decades, decimated populations, and annihilated communities. However, amidst this social, political, and religious catastrophe, important changes were experienced within the organization of armed forces. The war saw the end of the large mercenary forces and the beginnings of the well-disciplined national army.This book charts this progression, illustrating and explaining the forces of the key Catholic armies, while exploring the weapons, organization, tactics, and colourful uniforms used by the infantry and artillery of the day.I found the vibrant colour templates to be very enjoyable, as well as the descriptions of the military structure and organization. It does read easier if you already have an idea of the material in question, and I would recommend this book as a follow-up on the topic rather than going to it as an initial read, as it does run the risk of turning away its reader with its heavy use of unfamiliar terminology.Still in all, a good book, and a welcomed addition to my Osprey collection.

Well written as is the companion cavarly book. Good color plates. A tough subject to cover concidering that there were no real standing army units at the beginning of the war so therfore no standard organization or uniform. A good overview of the subject though. A book worth having.

This is a well written and well researched historical work. It holds the reader's attention in a compelling manner. Easy to read book. A must for all military historians, miniature war gamers, reenactors, and uniformologists,especially those who are Thirty Years War aficionados. Of general interest to all historians and antiquarians.

"Imperial Armies of the Thirty Years' War" details exactly what it says it does: the Catholic armies that fought against the Protestants during the Thirty Years Wars. While the opposing forces of Gustavus Adolphus are the more widely known forces of the wars, the Imperial Armies definitely needed to be talked about and explored in further detail as well. This book, short as it may be, attempts to bring to light some of the effectiveness and difficulties that these Imperial Armies faced during the war.Like every typical Osprey book, "Imperial Armies of the Thirty Years' War" is a 48 page introduction to the infantry and artillery of the Catholic side of the religious Thirty Years Wars. The book details the military organization and effectiveness of the aforementioned armies, as well as showing several color drawings to better illustrate the uniform color and make-up. The book also comprises several maps and diagrams to help the reader better understand the battles and struggles from the overview, but like most Osprey books, it leaves you wanting more. Several of the reviewers complained about the translation of the book; however, I found nothing that deferred my attention away from the topic at hand. I guess the writer is not an English-first individual, but his writing is effective and ultimately gets the job done.If you want a short and concise overview of the Thirty Years War then this is your book. If you want piles of details and an in depth analysis then you'll need to look elsewhere for your fix. This book is only an initiation to the conflict, not an end all to be all account.

Some of Osprey's products are really first class; others are no better than your average Wikipedia article. Even so, I was surprised by the low quality of this book.Most of the text seems to be written for someone who has little knowledge of 17th century warfare; it reads more like a general guide to the Thirty Years War than to the Imperial army specifically, and doesn't do that very well either.The writer is clearly a non-native English speaker - and many of the specialist military terms are incorrectly translated or simply 'off', for example the term 'marksman', meaning perhaps musketeer? 'Rifleman' (figure E3) where Jäger would have been much better. 'Pikeman in light dress'... hmm, perhaps 'unarmoured pikeman'.The photo-realistic artwork is jarring at first, but I can get used to it. More alarming are the mistakes - almost every reconstructed plate has serious errors, from the anachronistic buckles on shoes and hatbands and the strange-looking lace collars, to entirely bogus figures, such as the 'Rifleman' E3, which is taken directly from a mannequin in the Army Museum in Vienna, designed many decades ago using outdated research. It is customary in the plates commentary section to describe the basis of the illustrator's reconstruction, a custom that here, with one or two exceptions, gets thrown aside.Both author and illustrator seem to have a poor feel for the period and this shows on every page. Even the information on the Hungarians and Croats, where they might have some local expertise, is sparse and generalised and the reconstructed Hayduk and Croat on plate E are two-dimensional and in places, plain wrong.After yawning through the first one-third of the text, which is wasted on a general introduction to the Thirty Years War (TYW), I was hoping there would be some 'meat and veg' in the sections titled 'Infantry', 'Tactics', 'Artillery'. Alas, no. Instead we are treated to the same old generalities about the TYW - the musketeer needing to learn '99 positions directed by 163 orders' to learn to fire his musket, military punishments involving beheading and 'riding the wooden donkey'. The Tactics section contains the usual cheesy nonsense about the 'tercio' being the Imperial formation of choice. The artillery section is especially poor, containing little more than a general outline of the use of cannon during the TYW. The points of major interest, where the Imperial army genuinely differed, such as the use of 'bucklermen', are rarely given the detail they deserve. And why is there no reconstruction of soldiers in the pearl-grey uniforms introduced by Gallas in 1645?Some of the black/white images (though poorly captioned) are nice, especially those from the Graz armoury - for which I give the book a second star. However, all in all, this book told me only a little more about the Thirty Years War as a whole, but very little specifically about the infantry and artillery of the Imperial Army mentioned in the title.

Given that this is a board book, I expected it to be simpler and better suited to young child. There are too many colors and too many words on each page to focus on the letter being featured. It's a super cute book, but NOT well suited for an alphabet book for a preschooler. I would have preferred on letter and tree name on each page, and if more description were needed a parent guide page or something with more info about each tree. We are keeping the book though!

My twin toddlers love these books. They can read all the letters of the alphabet in these books and know what the different tree types are. We enjoy the art and story content which is great because the kids want to read this again and again.

This book, like all of Mrs. Peanuckle's books is a joy for kids and adults. We have purchased several and keep the others in rotation from the library.

LOVE her books, have them all. Excellent illustrations and lots to learn!

This is a terrific book on Koons work. Quality photos, nice written overview and biographical information, but it's a bit too thorough for a high school library. I bought this for modern art research but sadly, we couldn't use it for the intended purpose because it includes some of Koons more (much more) explicit photos. It's great for home use or college libraries though.

Not as explicit as I would like but still enough to like the book. The photography is well done but posed. I prefer natural settings but this is art.

The book is full of erotic and frankly graphic photos of women engaged in sex. It is a mix of soft core and hard core images. Overall, I enjoy the book but some of the images are a little to hard core for me. However, you can check out the Taschen website for a preview of some of the images.

I am a member of the Mutual UFO Network Experiencer Research Team and I read a lot of books on this topic. I highly recommend this book. Ingo Swan is one of the most famous remote viewers who had worked on secret alien-related remote viewing projects in the 1970s. What I liked about this book was that it was an easy read in a conversational style, and it tells about Swan's experiences in the remote viewing process. He says that the government is not going to disclose secrets about aliens, not just because they have been lying to us for 70+ years, but because that secret is closely related to alien telepathy -- and how close humans are to achieving telepathy, which terrifies our governments. Swan does not discuss much about the nuts-and-bolts of telepathy itself -- which is why I did not give it 5 stars -- but focuses on the social upheaval it would cause if many humans were capable of telepathy. Swan also talks a great deal about the moon and how it is really an artificial satellite -- and he has documentation and references to that effect. This is a fascinating book you will enjoy and that will also broaden your mind about reality and our role in it.

I have read a lot of UFO related books over the years by people like Howe, Dolan, Marrs etc.... I was eager to get this book, as the author is well regarded in the field and many people, like Howe, mention him favorably.But I have to admit I am a little puzzled by all the five star reviews. First of all, the writing style of the book is very very informal and general. It reads like a diary of basic events, a sort of list of what happens. The detail is not rich.Some of the happenings just flat out do not make sense other than as atmospheric details. Mr. Axelrod calls out of the blue at 3:00 AM. The Twins magically show up in a grocery store tailing a woman who Swann happens to notice in the produce section of the store because she is wearing a skimpy top. These elements of intrigue have become a cliche in UFO writing, and while I do not doubt the existence of clandestine programs I do not see why the people who work them should be making calls at 3 AM.Then there is the out-of-nowhere phone call and sudden trip in the middle of the night to Alaska to view a UFO, which includes a car trip with a black bag over Swann's head (which strangely they do not bother with on the way back??) and a viewing that Axelrod says he should not have shown anyone. All this secret agent stuff seems a bit unnecessary and a bit cliched. Are we to believe Axelrod went rogue? How did Axelrod know the UFO was about to show up? Maybe. But sounds too much like the X-files to me, regardless of whether this happened before the X-files was televised.I did enjoy the discussion Swann has with Axelrod about how people perceive things through preconceptions and people see different things even if they are all looking at the same thing, though it then went off into a vague issue of who controls the preconceptions, a discussion with little specific content.Did it happen? Is the whole book a scam?Was the whole thing, as conspiracy people often wonder, a counter-intelligence operation designed by the CIA to make us think Swann has some insight when in fact the information is incorrect?Is the information correct but presented in such a way that we write off the experience and thus are turned away from the real information??????Who knows! Fun read but I think Dolan's writing often has more power to it because he relies on documents and the sightings of others. This is a sort of "here is what happened to me" type thing that sort of leaves you in the air. Nothing is proven or necessarily made to seem likely. It is just sort of odd and you can take it or leave it, depending on your tolerance for illogical/strange happenings and "dark government" intrigue.This book is now available at a reasonable price, so worth a look.And PLEASE, fan boys of Swann's need not respond to this as they have to some other reviews that were not goo-goo about the book.FAN BOYS: If you disagree with me, that is fine. This is just one person's reaction to the book as one more entry into the field of UFO literature and a book some people may be thinking of buying. There is a big difference between reading Dolan and reading Swann, and potential readers may benefit from some comments that might help them decide how they want to spend their money and time.If you are into UFO books, this makes for an interesting read.

Ingo Swann is much mentioned by other authors (especially Joseph McMoneagle) when discussing the government's remote viewing projects (Stargate etc.). Therefore he starts with a certain amount of credibility as someone who actually impressed many others with real ability. The first part of this book is a 1st person account of some interactions he had with government functionaries who had some responsibilities in regards aliens on earth as well as the moon. It is great, gripping reading the tradition of sci fi masters, albeit without the marks of fiction (no huge conflict here, only a mystery...). Ingo just talks about what happened to him and how he felt about it. You can read it as you like (as fiction, you'll like it well enough), or as non-fiction (more evidence on that great pile Ingo talks about in the second half). As noted by another reviewer, the second half of the book is a lot less than the first half... not 1st person (except in the sense that it is Ingo surmising, speculating, theorizing, etc.). The only value really is that it is Ingo Swann, not some BillyBob presenting a book-report, that is doing the speculating. Still it's only worth 3 stars. So I gave it 4 stars as a weighted average.Don't skip the 1st half. It's really excellent. If you just want to skip the 2nd half, it has a bit of a book-report wherein Ingo confirms his RV investigations of the moon in the 1st half, and goes on to propose among other things that 1) the US government knows that the moon (and earth) have lots of higher powered aliens running around doing alien things that are (???) a potential threat to people (???) and therefore some kind of close monitoring is required, 2) Of course this can't be talked about and hence all misinformation tactics are fair game, 3) the USG (and space-side aliens) would like to suppress broad ranging telepathy research, because it would compromise 2), and 4) as a result of no appropriate research, we don't know much about telepathy, except that it does not seem to work single mindedly, i.e. I will have a very hard time reading your thoughts, all other things being equal. Ingo proposes that other modalities are much more likely to be manifest than 1 to 1 'telepathy', although in a fairly weak form it is well enough documented by others (for an interesting video see "Michael Persinger No More Secrets" on youtube ).If this subject interests you, you might also find the Researchers of Truth concepts of 'elementals' and other sources (even Eckhart Tolle) that talk about 'thought-forms' are helpful in understanding the situation that Ingo comments on in the 2nd half of the book. Ingo is not aware of this other work (or doesn't mention it), and uses his own language to frame these things, perhaps providing a bit of supporting evidence (the view of one person with demonstrated RV skill) but not much more.
